Our Children ~ Our Community ~ Our Future!
The Lawrence Township School Foundation’s Vision is to impact the life of every student, in every school, every day. We continue to work towards that Vision by focusing upon:
• Collaboration;
• Innovation; and
• Energizing our Community
The 2007-2008 Lawrence Township School Foundation Board of Directors has collaborated with many community partners to fund programs which build confidence, expand opportunities and raise achievement levels for all students. Last year, more than 5,000 students were affected by Foundation initiatives such as the Creative Classroom Grant Program, the MACs (My Achievement Centers) which provide free high school tutoring, and AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) mentoring program; however, with more than 16,000 students in Lawrence Township public schools, there remains much more to do.
Our near-term goal is to expand the MAC tutoring program at both high schools, expand this program to our middle schools and eventually expand to every school. We also hope to offer AVID mentoring services to all Middle and High School students and double our Creative Classroom Grants Program. Additionally, our ground-breaking My Community Gets Healthy physical fitness & healthy lifestyle program is planned to reach all Township schools by the 2008-2009 school year.
Results from these innovative programs, as shown in our Annual Report, are tangible and prove the success and effectiveness of our Board’s strategy. We look forward to the continued partnership between our educators, our community and our investors that will permit the Foundation to encourage creative educational programs which inspire and brighten the future for all students year after year.
Our continued success is dependent upon communicating our vision and our needs to our community — parents, students, educators, business leaders and community investors. We hope to share our vision with you over the coming year and sincerely hope that you will be able to contribute to the ongoing success of the Lawrence Township public schools, enriching the lives of the children of our community.
